María Galán, the volunteer who changed the lives of children in Uganda
In the heart of Uganda, a young Spanish woman named María Galán left everything behind to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children. As a volunteer at an orphanage, she worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the children and gave them the opportunity for a better future.
María, 24 years old, has been living in Uganda for two years. Her passion for this country comes from collaborating with Babies Uganda, the NGO created by her mother, Montserrat Martínez, along with Maribel García.
The Arrival of María to Uganda
María Galán arrived in Uganda in 2010, leaving behind her life in Spain to help the children in need. She started her work at an orphanage in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, where she provided food, clothing, and medical attention to the children.
The Creation of “Casa de los Ángeles”
After working at the orphanage for some time, María decided that she wanted to do something more to help the children of Uganda. She decided to create her own project, “Casa de los Ángeles”, a home for orphaned and abandoned children. With the help of donors and volunteers, María built the house and began giving the children a better life.
The Mission of “Casa de los Ángeles”
The mission of Casa de los Ángeles is to provide the children with a safe, loving, and healthy life, as well as education and training to help them achieve a better future. The house provides shelter, food, medical attention, and education to the children who need it.
The Impact of María and “Casa de los Ángeles”
Thanks to the work of María and Casa de los Ángeles, many children have found a safe and loving home in Uganda. The children have received medical attention and education and have had the opportunity for a better life. Additionally, Casa de los Ángeles has inspired many other people to make a difference in the lives of needy children.
The Legacy of María
Through the NGO, projects such as the “House of the Angels”, the orphanage where Maria began working as a volunteer in Uganda, have been developed. The story of Maria Galán and her work in Uganda is proof of the power of kindness and dedication to make a difference in the lives of others.
